The Family & Community Group

Who We Are!

The Family & Community Group is a Registered Charity (1192942) As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), we aim to provide community support through the things that mean the most to us. Supporting children, young people and their families are at the heart of our charity, creating opportunities and developing support networks is how we will engage with people within our communities.

We support children, young people, and their families, creating, facilitating activities, opportunities and developing support networks, for groups to access. We are currently aiming to manage community facilities in Torfaen, these facilities will help support the communities, providing a wide range of recreational activities as well as need based projects to support vulnerable groups in Torfaen.

The charity is founded by experienced and qualified youth, play and community workers with a wealth of experience and knowledge in supporting the development of community activities and facilities such as Court Farm & Oakfield Community Centre, Griffithstown Community Centre and Griffithstown Communal Gardens, the TOGS Centre and Glenside Community Hall. We have specialist knowledge in setting up youth clubs, summer camps, young carers groups, provision for children with disabilities and play provisions in a variety of settings such as community centres, parks and on the streets. We are passionate about supporting people and want to not only support children and young people but also their parents and grandparents.

We are a newly formed charity, and we are constantly researching and developing ways to support our communities. With our research, we will develop the charity and in the future aim to develop community activities, venues, and enrich the lives of people living in Torfaen.

For both our funders, and our communities, we understand the value of consultations, systemic evaluation and community involvement. As a charity we are talking to people about the issues that effect families and communities. the ideas they have and the opportunities to develop need based projects. We want to create and facilitate systemic change with others.
